Every once in a while, MyFonts sends out a Special Edition newsletter offering a handpicked selection of fonts which although pretty fantastic, never made any of our Rising Stars or Best Of lists. In this issue we feature twelve fine faces that have been noticed by experts but have not yet met with mass success. A dozen original and highly professional designs by high quality micro-foundries. Tipografia: Entrevista a Panos Vassilou, criador da Champion Script
The Parachute foundry from Athens, Greece, had been on our wish list for a while when, about a year ago, they replied to our gentle poking with a whole-hearted “yes”.
As soon as Parachute’s sophisticated type families began appearing on MyFonts, they caught the attention of our quality-conscious users. For months, they dominated our Hot New Fonts charts. Their spectacular Champion Script became the most popular formal script of 2009, and has remained one of our best selling fonts to date. So yes, Parachute’s founder and spokesman Panos Vassiliou is a happy man. And totally in love... with typography.

Mário Feliciano: o designer de fontes português em entrevista para a "Creative Characters"
"He is a unique figure on the international type design scene. Energetic and open-minded, Portuguese Mário Feliciano is part of a new generation of type designers that has put the Iberian peninsula firmly on the map. A self-taught type designer, he initially made experimental and grungy fonts; but his work quickly gained maturity and professionalism. Having run a successful graphic design studio in Lisbon for several years, he gave it up to fully concentrate on the fonts published by the Feliciano Type Foundry (FTF) and on type consultancy for magazines and newspapers."

It provides the ability to create fonts that preserves the gestures of a given handwriting and the original look of the drawing appliance (ball-point pen, pencil, ink, paper, etc.).
FONTSELF proposes intuitive tools to create and edit bitmap font (scanned letters) as well as solutions to use them and exchange them.
