Do lado português concorreram a Brandia Central, a Euro RSCG Design & Arquitectura e a Santa Fé.

Branding: The Evolution of Apple Ads

Apple first started advertising their products in the late 1970s.

The 80s showed a wide variety of ads, some of which served to convince consumers that they should purchase a computer, and specifically an Apple.

These ads were text-heavy and light on images, as were many
computer and technology ads from that era.

Apple ads really came into their heyday during the 1990s, with the “Think Different” campaign, which became very popular as they featured a number of famous people.

Here’s a stunning compilation of some of Apple’s most notable advertisements from the 70s until the present day, including a few videos ads.

Branding: 11th September Memorial Museum

9/11 Memorial, Before and After

Originally, in 2006, it was called the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation, then in 2007 it evolved into the lengthier National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center. Now, eight years after the events of 2001, the name has changed to the simpler and more colloquial 9/11 Memorial. And the museum will be known as the 9/11 Memorial Museum, while National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center remains as the legal name of the non-profit organization. Coinciding with the opening of the 9/11 Memorial Preview Site — a space devoted to showcasing the plans and progress of the memorial and museum, as well as serving to collect stories and artifacts for future preservation — comes the release of a new identity in the long road of this venture in preparation for its opening in 2011. The identity has been designed by Landor in New York.

9/11 Memorial

In an effort to make the memorial distinctive and accessible to the general public, the name was shortened to "9/11 Memorial." With the name change came the need to create a new visual identity that reinforced the spirit of rebuilding. The new visual icon is built upon two pillars of strength and solidarity. The simplistic use of the date, 9/11, with the '11' standing alone in a subdued blue against the black '9' and 'Memoria', the icon allows the gravity and authenticity of the events that occurred on 9/11 to speak for themselves.

(Good Humor?

Branding: New Audi's Typographic Style

Audi Logo, Before and After

As part of its week-long centennial celebration that included news about the upcoming release of the S5 Quattro — which might mean something to autophiles, but not much to me — Audi unveiled an updated logo that gave a new shine to the four interlocked rings, from a matte finish to a more chromalicious one, and it switched out the quirky wordmark for a new bespoke corporate typeface.

Audi

While I would have personally kept the old render of the rings, which look more sophisticated and subtle, I am probably one of the lonely souls to say good riddance to the old wordmark, which I have never liked. Neither letter works well with the other and there is no saving grace for that "d" unless someone were to tell me that it stands for a 6 or 9 and either of those numbers represent the number of pistons, or whatever other engine taxonomic detail, that made the first Audi run. But I doubt it. In exchange, the new Audi wordmark is set in the extended bold weight of Audi Type, a Roman and Extended type family commissioned by MetaDesign from Paul van der Laan and Pieter van Rosmalen. Along with being part of the new logo, Audi Type replaces Audi Sans, a modified version of Univers Extended.

The new type family can be seen in full action in the 2008 Annual Report, available as a PDF. The result is a strikingly modern and contemporary look that blends quite well with the Audi cars, slick and sophisticated. For a few more images and background, please visit FontFeed.

Branding: Os segredos das marcas
http://images.fastcompany.com/slideshows/famous-brands/01.jpg
"Graphic designers (UnderConsideration LLC), authors, and Internet instigators Armin Vit and Bryony Gomez-Palacio recently closed their influential design blog Speak Up and left New York to set up shop in Austin, Texas. Besides the fact that their mortgage now nets them double the square-footage, not much has changed for the husband-and-wife team: They still run several blogs, including the popular branding blog Brand New, work for clients, and write books, including their newest, Graphic Design Referenced, published by Rockport. The highly-visual guide highlights the industry's technical terms, historical moments, and influential practitioners with over 2,000 projects, so we asked Vit and Gomez-Palacio to dig out the 12 juiciest stories about our favorite brands for some salacious summer design reading.
